Hong Kong twin jewelry shows by HKTDC conclude with record attendance and optimism

The 11th edition of the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show and the 41st Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, organized by the Hong Kong Trade & Development Council (HKTDC), wrapped up on March 6th and 8th, 2025, with resounding success and a record attendance of over 82,000 buyers from 141 countries and regions.

This underscores Hong Kong’s global stature as a premier exhibition and trading hub in the jewelry industry. The shows saw a notable increase in buyers from Southeast Asia, Middle East, Western Europe, and North America, reflecting the growing international appeal of these two flagship events.

New sections introduced by HKTDC, such as the dedicated area for gold jewellery and the platform for young designers, have stimulated innovation within the sector. Key emerging markets identified include the Middle East, India, and Australia, with artificial intelligence, big data, and social media recognized as pivotal tools driving industry evolution. The participation of 4,000 exhibitors from over 40 countries showcased a diverse array of products ranging from raw materials like diamonds and gemstones to high-end finished jewellery.

Product categories focused on diamonds, pearls, and natural gemstones, with exhibitors from countries like Sri Lanka and Japan presenting top-tier offerings of exceptional quality. Many participants reported sales exceeding expectations, with some connecting with buyers from Russia, Korea, and mainland China, tripling sales compared to the previous year. Buyers from China, the Middle East, and the United States demonstrated a willingness to invest significantly in high-quality jewellery pieces.

Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of HKTDC, highlighted the global acclaim for the jewellery shows, stating, “The two jewellery fairs are highly valued by global exhibitors. This year, the shows attracted around 4,000 exhibitors from over 40 countries and regions, nearly 70% of whom came from outside Hong Kong. This underscores Hong Kong’s appeal on the international stage as a world-class convention and exhibition center. The two shows provide a unique platform for the global industry, featuring loose diamonds, colored diamonds, gemstones, and pearls, as well as showcasing the finest finished jewellery, high-end bespoke pieces, designer brands, mounting components, packaging, and identification tools and technology. The wide range of product offerings is highly effective in attracting professional buyers from around the world.”

Winston Chow, Chairman of the HKTDC Jewellery Advisory Committee, commented, “This year’s jewellery shows, themed ‘Symphony of Sparkles,’ continue the success of the ‘two shows, two venues’ format, offering a wide range of high-quality raw materials and high-end jewellery. They also feature a series of jewellery parades, seminars, and forums designed for buyers and exhibitors to facilitate new networking opportunities in a highly competitive market.”

The International Jewellery Show also highlighted emerging trends such as men’s jewellery and accessible luxury. The International Jewellery Design Excellence Award, an important biennal event awarded as Champion of the Champions the Australian Nadia Neuman with the Kaleidoscope necklace, there were other awarded from different countries and everyone of them presented marvelous creations.

With over 30 events including seminars, jewelry parades, and networking opportunities, the two shows provided a crucial platform to explore market dynamics and the latest technological innovations in the jewelry sector. This year’s edition has solidified Hong Kong’s position as one of the leading global hubs for the diamond and jewellery industry, with an increasingly forward-looking approach towards innovation, sustainability, and bridging emerging and established markets.
